From Puerto Montt I took a bus for
1000 pesos to Ensenada. I walk few steps with my backpack
as a pickup car stopped. This car brings me good 20
minutes up to the volacano. There I met the "guarderia"
that spok frensh and decided to let him my heavy backpack
and have a 3 hours hitch to the volcano.
The hitchinking of this 2652 meter high sleeping volcano
is a kind of walk into corn flakes. Each step go 5
to 10 cm into the stones and sand. For going down
it was great because you can run and make big jumps
without trouble but the way up it is a little torture
for the end of the toe and the "mollet"
muscle.
Finaly I arrived to the frontier beetween ice and
stones. There I had to stop because of no equipment.
In summer the sun form big gallerie under the ice
and alliment the Petrohue River with good water.
The view from the snow covered volcano is amazing.
Far away you can observe the other mountains, some
other volcano like the Vocan Calbuco (2003m) , one
of the biggest see in Chile the Lago Llanquihue and
Puerto Montt and the Pacific Ocean.
The way down can be dangerous because the cliff is
very abrut and some stone sometime just fell down
the abrupt hill. But then its just cool. You jump
two meters steps and fall into the corn flakes stones...
Sunset. I found some people bringing me back to the feet of
the volcan, sitting beetween two Childchair. Arrived
in Ensenada, I decided to sleep in a camping. Found
a good place 5 meters from the beach (2500 pesos a
night). Few minutes later I was invited from different
Chilian people to have a drink. Staying on the beach
and looking the moon and the stars reflecting on the
lago LLanquihue. Then I took the invitation for a
dinner.
Next day the place was so quite that I decided to
stay once more...The mornings clouds disappeared and
let the sun shining. I just have to do some few steps
and I was on the beach. I finished my Jules Verne
book "le tour du monde en 80 jours". Had
something to eat: toast bred with mortadela. The a
little swimm in the water. Hard day that ended with
a beautifull sunset and again the moon and this shining
stars following the way down behing the horizont into
the water. For dinner a toast bred with mortadela. |
