Florianopolis 27.january.2004

About 12 hours from Sao Paulo in the south, Florianopolis share a seecoast and a Peninsula. At the Rodoviaria, some Tourist agent try to catch my attention to sell me one of this tour and hotel. But with me NO CHANCE. Minutes later they go away with a couple of gringos who will pay a week end without searching anything but with more money out of the pocket.
On program rain and surf...

I take the bus to Barrio de Conception, it rain so much that the street seems to be canals of water. The bus drive and arrose the pedestrian with water. Its realy funny (when you are in the bus) With a Chilian and a Spanish guy we went out to find a pousada. After we had something to eat close to the beach. It was raining again. Some people told us that it didn t stop during 5 days....and the girld who rent the rooms always told them, "keep cool, tomorow the weather will be sunny, I saw on television !" That is a good way to catch the "Gringos" (stupid tourist) and to make a better rate if they stay longer. So some people just take 5 days to a week, payed in advance to have a better per day rate. But this time it wasn t good for them because of the rain.
I realy don t love rain when it don t stop. But this time I didn t care. I went to the beach and rent a Longboard then a Funboard. I took a wateruniform and beginn to do something that looked like surf. Okay we can say that I m a beginner. But I had the power to try. And I had a lot of fun. It was raining and I was surfing with maibye 50 other guys. The abiamce was very cool, and believe or not, I was staying on the board...So don t be surprised if next year I m in the World best surfer arround the world ;-)
The night I went to the beach and met some people there just staying arround with a bottle of beer, a caipi, or some strangy stuff to smoke. I was with my caipi de morango. Here you find principaly surfers, and they are very cool guys traveling with a little bag and the board.
Next day I woke up early, the rain didn t stop all night long and so I decided to pack my stuff and go to Buenuos Aires. I arrived exactly before the bus go, and so 26 hours later I arrived in Buenos Aires.

PS; Don t be angry if you don t see so much photo here. I missed to take photos from me in this Surfer uniform ! I m not angry about it.
Floripa seems to be a pretty place but the rain change my mind staying here. You can go to the south of the peninsula and make a trail, or make some Sand surf on the big dunes, or see the Surf Championship of Brazil, or just pratice your surf.
