Sydney: 11.juin.2004

Sydney, is for few days the point most far away I ever went from home. A city with an Europeen flair and an Austral Sommer (cold 15-20 degrees). After Honolulu its a temperature shock.

The first strange thing that happen is the time change. For the first time since my travel I can t write anything about the 10 juin 2004. Why? Nothing happened that day, because this day didn t exist. Traveling from West to East simply mean that I m following the rotation of the earth with the consequence of losing one day when I m passing the international time line beetwen Hawaii and Australia. The same happened to Philleas Fog on the "Tour du monde en 80 Jours", but he win one days because he travelled on the other wise.
Well second thing when I get out of the plane: the temperature. Honolulu was warm. Sydney is cold. Its winter here. And I hate cold....So should I go to New Zealand were its colder or should I escape to the north of Australia.
I don t know.

Time to visit Sydney with Nico, a german guy that I met in the backpacker hostel in King Cross. Together we cross the city by foot. On the programm the Botanical Garden ( with big bats and spiders), the 305 meter hight skytower, the Opera House, Darling Harbour (and the Jazz Festival), Chinatown....Well a city tour.
Naturaly a city is good for shopping. The people who know how I m traveling will think, that I don t have any place left for anything on my heavy backpack. And they have wright. No place. My backpack is realy to heavy but as I saw this shops with a Guitar I could not resist. Its such a good compagnie...and Jesse and Gerald (a french guy I met in Hawaii) had convince me that it was worth traveling with. So for about 80 Euro I buy this second hand guitar. Now have to learn few songs and I could win money with my talent to finance the rest of my trip. Adding to that a Kangourou hut to recolt the money....It s crocodile Dundee time.

Thats it for the moment....I m realy to leasy to write now...cu soon folks.

PS: Australian people seems very nice.
